Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 August 2026

By using the Memory Explorer app ("the app"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Use of the app

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use as a way to record and browse your own timeline of memories. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to disrupt its operation, or use it in any unlawful way.

Your content

Everything you add to the app — moments, periods, notes and photos — is your own content, and stays on your own device unless you choose to export or share it. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your own backups; we have no copy to recover it from if it's lost.

The OpenAI-powered "describe" feature

If you choose to enable the free-text "describe a memory" feature, you must supply your own OpenAI API key and are responsible for any usage and cost associated with it, as well as compliance with OpenAI's own terms of use. The suggestions it generates are not guaranteed to be accurate — review them before accepting.

Intellectual property

The app, its design and its original code are owned by the developer. Your own entries, notes and photos remain yours.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that your data will never be lost.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including loss of the memories, photos or other content you've stored in it.

Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
